The correction log

What we verified, what we couldn't, and when we check again.

A warranty site that quotes other companies' terms takes on a duty: say where every rule came from, admit the blanks, and re-read the documents on a schedule. This page is that duty, in public. Found an error — a term changed, a number moved, a rule we misread? Email help@doogex.com and it lands here, dated, with the fix.

Launch entry — Oct 20, 2026

The dataset behind the checker and every chain page was built from these primary documents:

ChainPrimary source
AutoZone"Starting & Charging Nationwide Warranty" document (autozone.com, PDF) — battery free periods by line, the proration formula, the original-date replacement rule, exclusions. Lookup mechanics: AutoZone employee account, GarageJournal (Jan 2024), labeled as reported.
Advance Auto PartsPublished warranty pages (shop.advanceautoparts.com) — the 45-day/receipt rule, the receipt/invoice requirement, the 90-day commercial term, companion-part conditions.
O'Reilly Auto PartsPublished warranty page (oreillyauto.com) — the receipt requirement, §1.1 national database, periods and owner-locked lifetime, the 90-day commercial term, replacement coverage, §1.4 exclusions, §2 battery rules.
NAPAPer-line warranty documents (GPC), incl. the NAPA Brakes warranty document — the Alleged Defective Merchandise Tag, the 30-day-from-discovery rule, examiner review, the discretion clause, labor exclusion.

Known gaps — flagged on-page, never filled in

CellStatus
NAPA national consumer phone lineNot verified No national consumer warranty line exists in the verified record. The checker and the ladder show the gap instead of a number. If NAPA publishes one, it will be added here with its source.
NAPA per-part periods (alternators, starters)Partial No published per-part periods in the available record; terms are per-line and store-administered. Pages say so.
Advance replacement-clock rulePartial Not found in the published general terms we verified. The replacement-clock table marks it unverified.
AutoZone commercial-use clauseNot found No commercial downgrade appears in the Starting & Charging document's exclusions as verified. The checker calls the counter's sentence exactly that: not found in the published text — a demand position, not a ruling.
O'Reilly battery proration formulaNot verified No published O'Reilly proration formula in the verified record; the checker labels any proration math for non-AutoZone chains illustrative, and verified only for AutoZone's ProPower lines.
Battery sales volume (70–100M/yr)Estimate Industry-estimate range, labeled as an estimate everywhere it appears; no exact national count is published.

The re-verification schedule

Warranty terms are era-stacked — they change, and the chains honor the terms from the sale date, which is why the checker asks yours. This site re-reads all four chains' primary documents quarterly; the next scheduled re-verification is January 2027, and every change lands on this page, dated, with the old and new text. Between scheduled reads, a reader report that checks out against a primary document gets corrected immediately and logged here the same way.
