The beachhead questions
Advance's published terms are the most document-bound in this market: the warranty's longer periods live on the receipt, and the receipt is what you're missing. The fight here isn't arguing — it's reconstruction: rebuilding the same proof from the records that still exist.
The text: the general warranty runs 45 days or the longer period printed on your receipt, and the longer benefit applies when the original receipt (or order invoice) is presented. Two honest readings follow. Without the receipt, the provable floor is the general rule plus whatever other record proves the sale and its date. With a reconstructed record — statement, order confirmation, account history — you have the substance the receipt was evidencing: this store, this part, this date, this price. Stores accept substance unevenly; that's what the ladder is for.
"I'm not asking you to take my word — I'm asking you to match the record. Here's the statement with your store, the date, and the amount. If the register can reprint by card and date, let's do that. If the answer is still no, I need the reason in writing for customer care." Advance answers BBB complaints with formal corporate responses — the written reason is the ticket to both doors. Not sure which wall you hit? The free checker sorts it in a few picks — chain, part, purchase date, your proof, and the store's own words — and gives you where you stand under the written policy, the proration math where it applies, the exact next counter move, and the ladder above the store.
